Part of the long campaign that led Parliament to remove attempted suicide from the Criminal Offences Act.
On 28 March 2023, the Parliament of Ghana amended the Criminal Offences Act of 1960, which made attempted suicide a crime. Attempted suicide is now treated as a mental health issue requiring assistance, not criminal prosecution. GASP continues to call for the resources needed to support everyone who seeks help.
