Joana Larry-Afutu, PhD. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a background in Human Resource Development. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology, an MPhil in Clinical Psychology, an M.A. in Human Resource Development, and a B.A. in Psychology with Sociology. With her expertise, some of her key competencies are research and assessment of mental health and psychosocial problems, development of tailor-made interventions, and implementation of these interventions for unique individuals and groups, particularly in the area of accumulated stress, trauma, and distressing life experiences. Through these experiences, she has done pioneering research work in military psychology which is being used to inform a psycho-social support policy for Ghana Armed Forces and peace support operations in the African Union. She is an active member of the Ghana Psychological Association (GPA) and is currently the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Association of Suicide Prevention (GASP).
